|Ian trained as a Chartered Accountant, becoming a Partner in a Top Twenty City-based professional firm in 1987, before joining a multi-national client in 1990, where he was responsible for global financial control and business planning. He retired in 2012 on disposal of the business.
He and his family had moved to Batts Corner in 1994 and all three children subsequently progressed through the local schools at St Mary’s and Waverley Abbey (with five years as Treasurer of FOWA).
He has been a Parish Councillor in the adjacent parish of Dockenfield since 2010, and he joined the Frensham Parish Council in 2013.
A member of Frensham Cricket Club from 1995 until recently, he was also Treasurer thereof for more than twenty years. Currently, however, he spends more leisure time on the tennis court or golf course.
