Ian McLean

Councillor

Ian trained as a Chartered Accountant, becoming a Partner in a City-based professional firm for several years, before moving to industry in 1990, and retiring in 2011 on disposal of the business.  He and his family (Suzanne and three children) had moved to Batts Corner in 1994 and all three children have since progressed though the local schools at St Mary’s and Waverley Abbey, where he served for five years as Treasurer of the Friends of Waverley Abbey.  He joined Dockenfield Parish Council in 2010, and is involved in the Emergency and the Neighbourhood Planning for Dockenfield.  At the first opportunity (summer 1995), he joined Frensham Cricket Club, where he still plays cricket in the Saturday league and Sunday casual sides.  He has been Treasurer of the cricket club since 1996, and is also the Chairman of the club’s Youth Section (which provides cricket training and experience for well over two hundred youngsters every season).  He joined the Frensham Parish Council in 2013, and is a member of  the FPC Rec Sub-Committee.
