Frensham and Rushmoor Local Emergency Plan Co-ordinators & information
Following the heavy snow in 2011 the Parish Council has established a group of volunteers who will help out around the parish in emergencies. With advice from Waverley Borough Council, a local co-ordination and action committee has been set up.
The key contacts are :
|For Shortfield area:||Nick Houston||792048|
|For Peakfield area:||Vacant|
|For Rushmoor:||David Fairhead||790056|
|For general enquiries & liaison:||Jenny Carter Parish Office||792882793002|
The above volunteers will put you in touch with:
a) people with snow-friendly vehicles for lifts to important (eg hospital) appointments;
b) walkers who will help with shopping, post, etc;
c) other volunteers with specialist items of equipment (eg tree cutting kit).
Everyone is asked to help out their less active neighbours by clearing drives or walkways, freeing trapped cars, and so on.
GRIT The Parish Council has installed four additional community grit bins around the Parish to supplement those provided by Surrey CC. Please use this grit sparingly to keep the roads passable at difficult/dangerous spots. Please do not use this expensive grit for your personal driveways. Residents are urged to lay in their own grit supplies before the snows arrive.
If you have any relevant practical experience, and/or specialist equipment and are prepared to help, but have not yet volunteered, then please consider adding your name to our register – contact the Parish Office – 793002.
